The AN/PEQ-15 LA-5 is an evolved version of the AN/PEQ-15 Advanced Aiming Light/Pointer/Illuminator (ATPIAL). “LA-5” is actually a code name given to the device after its implementation, with some minor tweaks and improvements made to its functionality. For example, there are adjustments to the windage adjustment knob and the distribution of the limit screws, but the operation still maintains the PEQ-15’s minimalist design.

As a standard laser module for US government agencies and military personnel, it has been widely used in numerous combat and training scenarios. The outstanding feature of this device is that it provides everything you need in a compact size. Its design allows the device to be mounted lower on the rail and wrapped around the Picatinny rail, achieving a low-profile, snag-free feature. This is achieved by using a flush-mount rail grip mounting system. The built-in switch is located on the top of the housing, making it convenient to operate in the field while wearing gloves. The body housing is made from high-density, impact-resistant polymer, making it extremely durable. This material reduces the weight of the device, which is especially noticeable when carrying weapons for extended periods. It also features a rear battery compartment that allows users to remove the battery without removing the device. The battery cover is spring-loaded, allowing the device to absorb more recoil from automatic weapons. There is a molded sling loop on the back. Windage correction and elevation of the illuminator are controlled by easy-to-operate knobs, allowing for quick adjustments in the field without the need for tools. Adjustment of the aiming laser is done with a small, tool-required flat-head screwdriver. This allows users to zero the illuminator for multiple different ranges in the field.

l The FMA AN/PEQ 15 Functional Version released by FMA offers three functions in addition to its finely replicated appearance. These functions include red/green laser, IR invisible laser and LED white light. The visible laser and invisible laser are coaxial, which is consistent with the functionality of the original product. The LED white light provided reaches 40 lumens (lm), meeting the needs of players who require functionality. It is also suitable for players who have a demand for aesthetics, as the external details are finely replicated, faithfully reproducing all the details of the prototype, and the operation method is consistent with the original product. The bottom supports standard Picatinny rails. The shell is made of high-strength nylon and can be powered by two 3.0V or 3.7V batteries (not included, need to be purchased separately).
